DEIA Scholarship Opportunity
The NYSABA Diversity, Equity, Inclusion and Accessibility (DEIA) Committee and Board of Directors are offering scholarships to help students and early career professionals attend the NYSABA conference in person, with a 1-night hotel stay covered.
Who can receive a scholarship: 1 student and 2 early career professionals (working in behavior analysis for under 1 year).
Why apply? Attending NYSABA is a great chance to learn, network, and grow as a professional, a consumer, or a parent. This scholarship is meant to open the door to ABA for people who have traditionally been underrepresented in the field.
Any criteria? Please apply if both of these are true for you: You have a financial need for help attending the conference, and you identify as a member of a historically excluded, underrepresented, and/or marginalized group, including but not limited to:
BIPOC (Black, Indigenous, Persons of Color People of color (non-White) People with disabilities People who identify as LGBTQIA+ Women Veterans People who work for a nonprofit, school, or government organization with limited funding People 55 years old or older People who are currently unemployed or underemployed
If none of these apply to you, we kindly ask that you not apply, so this opportunity can go to someone from a historically marginalized group. If you feel we've missed a group that should be included here, please let us know.
Questions or need help applying? The DEIA Committee is happy to assist; just reach out to Kozue at [email protected]
